According to Business Today, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Malaysia announced the appointment of Didier Ellena as the new General Manager, effective from January 5, 2026.
According to the report, Elena has over 30 years of work experience at JTI and has held management positions in markets such as Hungary, the Adriatic region, Russia, France, and Italy. According to company disclosures, he will be responsible for JTI Malaysia’s overall business strategy and operations in his new position, with a focus on sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and responsible business practices.
Elena will replace Juliana Mohd Yahaya. Yahaya was appointed as the General Manager of JTI Malaysia in October 2023 and will assume the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for JTI North Asia.
