Philip Morris Korea Extends IQOS ILUMA i Warranty To 18 Months

Philip Morris Korea (PMK) extended the warranty period for theirs heated tobacco product (HTP) “IQOS ILUMA i” series from 12 months to 18 months. This aiming to enhance market competitiveness and user satisfaction through more consumer centric services.

1. The full range warranty of “IQOS ILUMA i” has been extended from 12 months to 18 months, and is applicable retrospectively to existing users;
2. Registered devices automatically extend their warranty without the need for additional processing;
3. New users can enjoy an 18 month warranty after completing membership and device registration through official channels;
4. During the warranty period, if there are quality issues, the same device can be replaced free of charge. The official stated that this move aims to strengthen consumer centered services and promote the expansion of non combustible products.

PMK stated that the new warranty policy applies to the traceability of existing products. Existing users who have completed device registration will automatically receive an extended warranty period without the need for additional procedures. Newly purchased users can also enjoy an 18 month warranty after completing membership registration and device registration on the IQOS Korea official website. If there is a quality problem during the warranty period, consumers can receive a free replacement of the same equipment.

The company stated that this adjustment is not only an optimization of the service level, but also a strategic action to promote the expansion of the market for non combustible products (tobacco heating devices).
The industry expects that with the extension of the warranty period, PMK’s consumer trust and competitiveness in the Korean market are expected to further improve.
