Shenzhen Electronic Cigarette Quality Supervision Random Inspection

Since early 2008, smart designers have been designing electronic cigarettes that resemble cigarette shapes and have flavors similar to cigarettes, such as Marlboro, KENT, and others, containing nicotine. Compared to cigarettes, its taste is indeed worse. So it did not attract consumers’ attention. Until the emergence of fruit flavored vape, it quickly attracted a large number of consumers. At this point, the government began to pay attention and take regulatory measures. Re evaluate its environmental value, commercial value, and health value. Continuous supervision has made Shenzhen Tobacco Bureau the forefront regulatory department.

In the first half of 2025, the Shenzhen Tobacco Monopoly Bureau organized quality supervision and spot checks on electronic cigarette products in our city. Three electronic cigarette companies produced two sets of electronic cigarette products from three brands (consisting of two smoking accessories and two cigarette cartridges) and one disposable electronic cigarette product.
This inspection was conducted in accordance with the national mandatory standard for electronic cigarettes (GB 41700-2022) and the Shenzhen Electronic Cigarette Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Plan for the First Half of 2025, focusing on 12 safety indicators of electronic cigarette products, including anti filling, anti leakage, start-up protection, waterproofing, drop strength, atomized nicotine, atomized 2,3-butanedione, atomized heavy metals, atomized arsenic, nicotine release, carbonyl compound release, and atomized additives. The inspection results show that all 12 safety indicators of the sampled products meet the requirements of the national mandatory standard for electronic cigarettes (GB 41700-2022).
